The brief: create an imaginary interface.
The Openminded tries to tackle the "bubble effect" created by social media's algorithms by using an opposite system. Normal algorithms learn the user's interests and feel their feed with similar content. This works on a much bigger scale than we realise, in fact the only way to get a completely unbiased Google result is to do it anonymously.
The Openminded is a news app providing many different articles from different publishers. Its algorithm learns the user's opinions through a rating system and provides them with opposite viewpoints than their own to promote a more informed society.
The user interface maintains a simple and easy to access layout inspired by a physical newspaper and a social media app, to ensure familiarity.
The logo was though of in both extended and icon form, displaying the full name of the "paper", as traditional newspapers do, while using a sans-serif, modern-looking font in line with its new system.
