Graphic Design

I remember falling in love with graphic design when I was twelve. I wanted to redesign the Instagram user interface, the old one, because it felt outdated. Three years later, when I started studying it, graphic design revealed itself to be everything I had hoped, and more.

I started studying graphic design in 2017 after spending two years at art school, learning how to draw and sculpt. It was clear from the beginning it was my calling. I was the quickest to learn all the technical skills in my class and I would often help my classmates with their exercises.

It wasn't until 2019 that I was given my first brief, and I started thinking as a graphic designer.

Branding

Branding and ad campaigns are two things with the power to capture my full attention, and I am glad to spend long, uninterrupted days with. Painters sometimes see the finished image before even touching the canvas, I start seeing shapes and colours while reading the brief.

These are some of the works I am most proud of.

My games

The first game I built was in 2018, it was called Family, and it featured my own. The goal was for the person to collect all of their tiles and build a path with them before everyone else. The catch? The chance to draw a penalty card and have to perform an embarrassing action, which included one of my most brilliant ideas: a bin bag with holes for your head and arms.

Editorial design

I find editorial design a very challenging practice, which can have brilliant results when done right. However, it's a challenge I am willing to undertake, and it fascinates me for its power of communication. Layout on a page is like body language for a person, and it can make a difference in how the information is received by the viewer.

Illustration

I have always enjoyed drawing, however it took me many years to find a style that fit me. In the end, I was lucky: I found more than one. I love working on a grid, so I prioritise geometric and vectorial illustrations, usually abstract or very simplified. However I have done some traditional drawing on occasion.
